Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – WA3 area
Contract: Temporary – full-time or part-time
Start date: September 2025
A welcoming primary school in the WA3 area is looking for an experienced HLTA to join the team from September. You’ll be required to provide high-quality support across Key Stages 1 and 2, leading whole-class sessions when teachers are absent and delivering small-group or one-to-one interventions to help pupils achieve their best.
Responsibilities:
* Teach pre-planned lessons to whole classes in the teacher’s absence.
* Run targeted interventions to boost progress in core subjects.
* Support the planning and delivery of engaging learning activities.
* Work alongside teachers, SENCO and support staff to meet a range of pupil needs.
* Help maintain a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment.
Candidate Requirements:
* Hold HLTA status or a recognised Level 4 equivalent.
* Primary school experience, ideally across both KS1 and KS2.
* Confident classroom management and the flexibility to adapt to different groups.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
* Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
