Faculty of Medicine & Health School of Health Sciences Senior Research Associate Ref: RA2400 Salary on appointment will be £38,784 per annum, with an annual increment up to £47,389 per annum. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Research Associate join the School of Health Sciences. As a Senior Research Associate you will be associated with Project CECiLiA which is funded by the National Institute of Health Research. Project CECiLiA is about evaluating Care (Education) and Treatment Reviews for autistic people and people with learning disabilities in England. You will participate in field visits for data collection involving video-recording of patient-focused discussions in the review meetings and interviews with key informants. You will be involved in analysis of: national survey data; observational data (stage 2) using established coding frameworks underpinned by applied linguistics; large scale data; and in triangulation of all data sources. You will help to monitor the project email address, respond to queries that arise and participate in project-related meetings. You will also contribute to the write up of the project. You will have a postgraduate level qualification, equivalent qualification or experience in a relevant research area. You will also have experience of independent research, have publications in respected journals or equivalent within the field and be able to work in a proactive and results driven manner in a high paced environment. You will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to analyse and interpret data and work effectively as part of a team. Advanced skills directly relating to this research area and experience teaching small classes and/or overseeing practices would be advantageous. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child and Vulnerable Adult Barred Lists. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children or vulnerable adults.
