Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) – Working to keep people safe from the threat of terrorism. Working for CTPSE is a job like no other. The successful candidate will be working with teams, which cover the expanse of the South East region, stretching over five police forces and across the wider National CTP network tackling the most serious crime.
Who are we?
The Research and Analysis Team operates in support of every capability and has teams based within the Intelligence Management Function (IMF), South East Regional Prisons Intelligence Team (SERPIT) and in Border Policing across the CTPSE sites in Thames Valley, Sussex & Kent. The capability is made up of a number of Analysts and Intelligence Development Officers (IDOs) who are overseen by a Senior Analyst and led by the Head of Research & Analysis, III and Performance. Our role as a team is to provide expertise and to produce high quality research and analytical products to support all areas of CTPSE business, including Intelligence, Prevent, Border Policing and Investigations.
About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Analyst to join our CTPSE Research & Analysis team. In this role you will provide specialist supervision encompassing regular independent reviews of work and the development of skill profiles of a Research and Analysis team. You will regularly engage with and provide specialist advice to Senior Officers and customers to ensure products produced optimise our service delivery. The post holder will contribute to the identification, development and application of the R&A capability embracing the concept of best practice and encouraging innovation.
The successful applicant will have substantial current role-related experience as an analyst in a police or partnership agency environment with excellent understanding of the National Intelligence Model and APP. The role also needs an individual who can evidence leadership and the ability to motivate, develop and performance manage a team to increase their capability ensuring they are able to work effectively and provide a service that meets and complies with appropriate legislation, authorised professional practice, policies and procedures.
You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. For this reason a full UK Driving Licence is essential to the role.
Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level DV together with a number of enhanced security checks. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National andhave resided in the UK for the past ten years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad. Please be aware that if successful there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries once in post
