This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced employability, employment support, or mentoring professional to make a real difference by supporting participants aged 16+ while they undertake meaningful work placements.
As a Placement Officer, you will provide 1-to-1, person-centred and strengths-based support to an allocated caseload of participants. You will work closely with employers and partner organisations, and internal Employment Coordinators to help individuals overcome barriers, develop skills, and progress into sustainable employment or in-work progression.
Role Details
* Job Title: Working Denbighshire Placement Officer
* Rate: £17.00 per hour (Umbrella)
* Contract: 3-month contract, ongoing
* Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office
* Location: East Parade, Rhyl, Denbighshire, LL18 3AH
Key Responsibilities
* Provide mentoring, coaching and employability support during work placements
* Ensure placements are meaningful and improve future employment prospects
* Support participants with CVs, interview preparation and job search activity
* Complete reviews, risk assessments and outcome-focused action plans
* Maintain regular contact with employers to ensure placements are successful
* Work collaboratively with partner organisations and internal teams
* Accurately record data, monitoring information and performance outcomes
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, data protection and DCC policies
About You
* Experience supporting individuals facing poverty and barriers to employment, including complex needs
* Strong mentoring and coaching skills with a non-judgemental, empathetic approach
* Experience using strengths-based approaches and action planning
* Ability to build positive relationships with participants, employers and partners
* Experience of joint working and performance monitoring
