What you’ll be doing
as a Digital Budget & Efficiency Analyst
1. Identify, capture, and manage cost savings and optimisation opportunities and processes across Digital functions. Track and report on all initiatives with regular meetings with Digital teams and initiative owners.
2. Evaluate existing financial processes, reports, and systems to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement including with positioning and allocating costs.
3. Lead initiatives to implement digital tools and technologies that streamline financial operations and improve accuracy.
4. Run cost from projects: Work with Project Managers and Cost Centre Managers to identify and capture incoming costs from projects whilst working within the current project approval process framework and timescales.
5. Utilize data analytics to assess financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
6. Prepare monthly and ad-hoc detailed reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
7. For tracking and updating Opex cost centre budget forecasts in a proactive and accurate manner.
Base location – Hybrid – Clear Water Court Reading
Working pattern – 36 hours Monday to Friday
What you should bring to the role
The essential criteria to help you succeed in this role is:
8. Extensive experience in financial analysis / reporting, Business Administration, Budgeting, Process Improvement, or a related field.
9. Experience with managing, and tracking cost saving initiatives.
10. A good understanding of Digital services and products.
11. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
12. Strong proficiency in the use of MS tools - MS Excel, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, Word.
Extra qualities that would be a great fit for our team:
13. Proficiency in financial modelling / reporting digital transformation technologies.
14. Previous Digital or water / utility industry experience.
15. Accountancy qualification.
