Overview

Hexcel is the industry leader in manufacturing advanced composite materials, including carbon fiber, woven reinforcements, resins, prepregs, honeycombs, and additive manufactured parts. Hexcel is seeking a Facilities Manager for our Duxford, UK location.


Responsibilities

* Manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of buildings, plant, equipment, and site grounds.
* Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation and corporate EHS standards.
* Maintain statutory compliance across all facilities areas, including fire safety, asbestos, legionella, and PSSR.
* Plan, manage, and monitor planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
* Appoint, manage, and performance‑monitor external contractors and service providers.
* Support and manage capital projects, refurbishments, and lifecycle planning initiatives.
* Control facilities budgets, manage purchase orders and invoices, and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
* Act as the main point of contact for audits, inspections, and regulatory visits.
* Manage risk assessments, permits to work, emergency procedures, and facilities documentation.
* Coordinate with internal stakeholders to schedule works and minimize downtime to operations.


Qualifications

* Proven experience managing both hard and soft facilities services.
* Experience of facilities management within a complex manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Strong technical knowledge of building services, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and fire systems.
* A recognized qualification such as IOSH, NEBOSH, IWFM, or equivalent.
* Experience managing contractor performance, service level agreements, and vendor accounts.
* Strong understanding of statutory compliance requirements and facilities‑related legislation.
* Excellent budget management and cost‑control skills with strong commercial awareness.
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail and effective time‑management skills.
* Confident communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate facilities and compliance records.
* Candidate must be eligible to work in the country where the position is based.
