Specialist Physiotherapist (Neurorehabilitation)
The role requires 18.75 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday, with potential transition to a 7‑day working model. This part‑time position offers flexibility for those with other professional, academic, or personal commitments.
Responsibilities
* Deliver a high‑quality physiotherapy service as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.
* Carry out specialist assessments independently for clients with complex neurological conditions.
* Develop personalised problem lists, treatment plans, and rehabilitation goals.
* Complete complex respiratory assessments and treatment sessions.
* Design and implement 24‑hour postural management programmes, including specialist seating, positioning, and splinting.
* Assess and manage increased muscle tone and spasticity.
* Provide supervision, guidance, and support to therapy assistants and student physiotherapists.
* Contribute to the teaching and education of relatives, carers, and MDT colleagues.
* Actively engage in multidisciplinary team meetings, offering feedback and collaborative input.
* Produce detailed, comprehensive review reports for patients, families, and commissioners.
* Foster effective collaboration and communication within the MDT.
* Safeguard individuals from harm and uphold their human rights.

Qualifications and Experience
* HCPC registration.
* Post‑qualification experience in neurorehabilitation or complex care (including ABI/TBI).
* Experience and competence in respiratory care, including assessment, chest management, and rehabilitation for clients with complex needs such as tracheostomies.
* Well‑developed clinical reasoning skills and a commitment to person‑centred practice.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and contribute to a positive team culture.
* Enthusiasm for developing skills, embracing innovation, and contributing to service improvement.
