Job summary
We are looking for highly motivated, forward-thinking individual to become part of our committed team who work in the Cardio-Respiratory Department as a Senior Assistant Technical Officer.
You will be proficient in a range of investigations, performing ECG, Blood Gas analysis, Ambulatory Monitor Hook Up etc.
An Enhanced DBS with barred lists for both Adults & Children is required for this post.
Main duties of the job
* ECG's throughout the Trust - wards, clinics, A & E and other departments
* Cardiac monitoring during clinical procedures eg. cardioversions, carotid sinus massage and valsalva manoeuvres
* Basic spirometry and Peak Flows
* Arterial blood gas analysis
* Non-invasive BP measurement
* Blood glucose measurement
* Holter monitoring, 24 hr ambulatory ECG & BP hook up
* Actively participate at cardiac arrests
* Participate in audit collection
* Cleaning and maintenance of equipment and reporting of any faults to a senior physiologist

We also provide urgent care at our Urgent Treatment Centre located in St Helens town centre.
Specialist Regional Services
We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
