Location: Hybrid - Teesside | 2 days from home, 3 days on site
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9AM - 5PM
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £54,-£57, base salary DOE

The Role
As Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth, strengthening long-term customer partnerships, and supporting international sales activity. While the role does not involve direct line management, you will have full autonomy to manage your sales pipeline, nurture existing customer relationships, and lead business development and account management across the Teesside region. You will also collaborate closely with established sales teams across the UK and Europe, providing opportunities to share best practice and contribute to wider commercial success.
️ European travel will be required to support key accounts and affiliate sales teams. All travel expenses are fully covered. Notice will be provided at around 2 weeks ahead of travel.
Key Responsibilities
5. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with both existing and new customers, acting as a key point of contact for technical and commercial enquiries
6. Provide in-depth technical support to customers and affiliates, responding promptly to enquiries and reviewing requirements to support the quotes team (including drawing reviews, part numbers, and items to quote)
7. Negotiate commercial terms and approve quotes within agreed delegation levels, including customer-specific pricing reviews
8. Maintain accurate Salesforce records, including visit reports, quote status, customer contacts, and opportunity tracking
9. Produce timely customer visit reports and participate in regular sales meetings, weekly activity calls, and performance reviews
10. Support sales forecasting and contribute towards achievement of the overall sales budget through proactive pipeline management
11. Prepare and revise drawings for orders where required, with some design work included as part of the role
12. Conduct monthly visits to consignment stock customers
13. Review daily reports and communicate relevant updates to key customers as required
14. Collaborate closely with internal teams including Production, Dispatch, Purchasing, and key suppliers to support quotations, customer feedback, stock control, and open orders
15. Hold regular discussions with Purchasing to review raw material stock levels and plan future orders
About You
You're a confident, commercially driven Sales Manager who thrives in a technical environment and enjoys building meaningful customer partnerships. You'll ideally bring:
16. At least 3 years' experience as a Sales Manager or Business Development Manager
17. A background in technical or industrial sales
18. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
19. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
