Nottinghamshire Health Informatics Service (NHIS) provides Information, Communication and Technology Services (ICT) across the NHS and local health community, delivering national and local ICT requirements and continually researching and innovating in an effort to provide technologies that enable our customers to do things better or do better things.
An opportunity has arisen to work within the Application Support Team within the Transformation Service Line.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who has significant experience working within a customer or patient focused environment to join our busy Application Support Team.
You will need excellent knowledge of Microsoft desktop packages and an understanding of a range of patient‑based clinical systems would be desirable, as well as knowledge of the Data Protection Act and issues around data confidentiality.
Due to the nature of the role it is essential that the post holder has excellent communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure, and maintains a professional manner at all times.
A significant part of the role will be focused around answering telephone calls from clinical staff and using our call logging system; therefore the successful candidate must have advanced telephony and keyboard skills and appreciate the importance of capturing and maintaining accurate and timely information.
Contractual Requirements
* Participate in the 24‑hour on‑call rota
* Ability to work flexibly, outside normal office hours, to suit the needs of the users
Experience
* Substantial experience of supporting a large user base
* Excellent communication and time‑management skills
* Proven ability to work to tight deadlines
* Experience in working in a demanding environment
Qualifications – Academic / Craft / Professional / Further training
* Educated to Diploma level or equivalent experience in an IT or business environment
* Ongoing personal and professional development
* ITIL qualification
Knowledge Requirements
* Extensive experience working in an application support or call centre environment
* Expert knowledge of Microsoft desktop packages
* Knowledge of the Data Protection Act and issues around data confidentiality
* Awareness of NHS processes, business processes and dependencies
* Experience of using clinical applications across the NHS
* Good knowledge of working in the NHS
