Overview
Metroworth Consulting Limited is seeking a Piping Materials Engineer for a Plastics Pyrolysis Project in the Oil and Gas sector.
Duration: Initial 6-month contract with immediate start.
Location: Leatherhead, Surrey. The role requires hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days in the office, based at the client's offices in Leatherhead.
Rate: Approximately £60.00 per hour through Ltd Company. The role is likely outside IR35, subject to a Qdos assessment.
Requirements: Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
Responsibilities
* Develop deliverables including Piping Material Classes, Technical Specifications, and Requisitions.
* Create or amend technical specifications for new equipment, incorporating expert inputs where applicable.
* Coordinate with other engineering and supporting disciplines.
* Work independently or as part of a team, potentially abroad.
* Communicate effectively across disciplines.
* Follow client engineering standards and contribute to their development.
* Oversee contractor deliverables and design activities.
* Lead contract technical and project meetings.
* Resolve multi-disciplinary technical issues and queries.
Skills and Knowledge
* Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME B31.3, API, BS EN, etc.
* Understanding of PED 2014/68/EU.
* Technical expertise in valves and special piping items.
* Experience as a Package Responsible Engineer working with valves.
* Strong technical understanding of valves and project execution methodologies.
* Experience on large EPC projects.
* Willingness to share knowledge with engineers in Leatherhead and other locations.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Material Engineering.
