Asbestos Removal Operative role at Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services.
Pay: £15.44 per hour | Contract: Permanent | Employment: Full Time | Hours: 38 per week | Location: Yorkshire Region, LS158ZB.
Mitie Environmental Services Ltd are seeking an experienced Asbestos Removal Operative to undertake a wide variety of licensed and non-licensed asbestos removal projects across the United Kingdom.
Responsibilities
* Undertake licensed and non-licensed asbestos removal projects throughout the UK, ensuring exemplary standards of compliance and efficiency.
* Construct robust and compliant enclosures to enable the undertaking of licensed asbestos removal projects.
* Ensure all works are carried out to the highest standard of workmanship, preventing and reducing the spread and/or exposure of asbestos.
* Comply with company methodology, risk assessments, policies and procedures to safeguard health, safety, welfare and security of all.
* Professionally liaise with clients, contractors and residents.
* Sign all relevant paperwork to meet legislative and licensable requirements to the highest standards.
* Maintain daily record keeping, including timesheets, respirator check sheets and health records for yourself, site teams and agency staff.
Qualifications
* Minimum 24 months experience as an asbestos operative.
* Current Asbestos Removal Operative certificate.
* Verified and appropriate face fit test (2‑year medical surveillance).
* First Aid certificate.
* Full UK driving licence (towing licence preferred).
* Ability to work away and out of hours when required.
* Good communicator and team player.
* Willingness to participate in trade specific CSCS card and NVQ training.
Person Specification
* Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures applicable to asbestos.
* Strong interpersonal skills with ability to promote a positive health and safety culture.
* Excellent communication skills at all levels.
* Personable demeanour.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
* Follow group and company policies and procedures at all times.
* Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
* Use work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
* Report any issues or training needs to the line manager or via the divisional incident reporting system.
Information Security Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with Mitie’s information security procedures in all activities.
* Proactively identify and report security risks to the manager.
* Report actual and suspected security incidents.
