Salary: NJC Scale 1, pts 2-3 £20,877 to £21,205 per annum (actual)
Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
(Usual working hours are 8:00 to 4:00 with a finish of 3:30 one day per week, to be agreed dependent on Academy needs).

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Assistant Technician to help with the smooth running of the Science Department. Supporting the full Science Department, the role will work mainly at the Sleaford Campus but flexibility is required to work at our Ruskington campus on occasions too.
Duties will include assisting the Senior Science Technician and Science Technician with maintaining and cleaning equipment; preparation of chemicals and solutions; trialling practical activities with appropriate supervision, ensuring equipment and materials are available for staff and that work areas are kept clean and tidy. A willingness to be flexible, good communication skills and an interest in science are required. Current and relevant knowledge of Health and Safety legislation would be an advantage.
You will be required to have experience of working in a similar role and some basic knowledge of science taught in the classroom. The ideal candidate will also hold a minimum of 2 GCSE's to include English and Maths from grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent or be able to demonstrate a willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications.
