Job Purpose
To manage and control all aspects of the stores function, ensuring efficient inventory management, accurate stock records, and timely supply of materials to support operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Receiving and transferring deliveries.
* Segregate sterile and nonsterile materials (materials searched and not searched by the security team).
* Search all deliveries in accordance with security SOP and segregate materials that are unsafe or in breach of the security policy. Liaise with DST and security for all concordances (training is available).
* Liaise with other departments to deliver deliveries targeted for other areas of the business.
* Decant deliveries into intermediate or final storage spaces.
* Create and update the inventory management system.
* Deliver materials to all departments based on preorganised program and ad-hoc requests.
* Disperse materials based on the “walk-in” system from the FM Store.
* Maintain accurate stock levels and records through inventory systems, and conduct monthly audits to identify and reconcile discrepancies.
* Monitor stock movements and ensure proper documentation.
* Liaise with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
* Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials.
* Segregate high-risk and high-value items.
* Receive, receipt and store staff uniforms; issue uniforms as instructed by Training and Recruitment.
* Issue new uniforms to all staff based on the uniform refresh program.
* Recover/receive broken or nonfunctional equipment from site and arrange repair or safe disposal.
* Ensure safe and secure storage of all store assets, including pump trucks, forklifts, and electric vehicles, with up-to-date COSHH documentation; oversee cleanliness and supply of satellite stores.
* Ensure health and safety and fire safety compliance in all areas of work.
* Attend engineering meetings with supply/logistical interaction; develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, contractors, and departments; promote a safe working culture adhering to Health & Safety procedures.
* Forklift operation skills are required, or candidates must be willing to obtain certification.
Compliance & Safety
* Ensure stores operations comply with company policies and safety regulations.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and secure storage environment.
* Reporting & Documentation: prepare regular reports on stock status, usage trends, and variances; maintain documentation for audits and internal reviews; support finance and operations with inventory-related data.
* Team Collaboration: work closely with production, logistics, and finance teams.
Software Skills
* Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook (Intermediate to Advanced)
* Inventory Management Systems
* Barcode scanning and stock control software
We are looking for a candidate with basic to intermediate IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with some experience in updating systems. The ideal candidate will hold a C&G Level 2 Certificate in Warehousing and Storage and an IOSH or equivalent qualification. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as is the ability to take notes effectively.
