Accounts Assistant
Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a growing distribution business based in Andover. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform multiple bank reconciliations in multi-currencies
2. Maintain nominal ledgers on Xero
3. Prepare management accounts with accruals, prepayments, and depreciation journals
4. Post and manage stock purchases
5. Manage goods in transit
6. Oversee credit control with intervention where required
7. Manage the integration of the stock control system to Xero, including monthly COS adjustments and stock write-offs
8. Prepare bank payments and payment runs
9. Conduct weekly cash flow forecasting and management
10. Prepare VAT returns, including PVA statements and adjustments
11. Handle payroll preparation from start to finish and submit to HMRC
12. Manage pension submissions via payroll and portal
13. Assist in annual accounts preparation and liaise with external accountants
14. Interact with HMRC as needed
Requirements:
* A minimum of 3 years' experience in an accounts position
* Previous experience within an SME
* Strong knowledge of Xero
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Accountancy qualification at AAT level or above
The Accounts Assistant position:
* Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
* Salary between £35,000 and £42,000 depending on experience
