Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Solutions Architect with active SC clearance to join our dynamic team delivering innovative cloud solutions across secure and complex environments. You will be responsible for architecting and delivering scalable, secure, and cost-effective AWS cloud solutions, aligning closely with government and enterprise requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and implementation of AWS cloud solutions, ensuring compliance with security and architectural standards.
* Translate business requirements into scalable, secure cloud architecture and infrastructure.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Security, and Product teams to ensure architecture is aligned with delivery goals.
* Create high- and low-level architecture documentation including HLDs, LLDs, and solution design diagrams.
* Define and implement cloud best practices around security, automation, and cost optimisation.
* Provide AWS architectural guidance in migration, modernization, and greenfield projects.
* Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, including NCSC guidelines and internal controls.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Current and valid SC Clearance (must be active).
* Proven experience as an AWS Solutions Architect in secure and regulated environments.
* Strong understanding of AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and AWS Security services.
* Hands-on experience in cloud architecture design, cost optimisation, and infrastructure as code (Terraform or AWS CloudFormation).
* Knowledge of Well-Architected Framework, security controls, and AWS best practices.
* Strong understanding of networking, IAM policies, security groups, and encryption mechanisms.
* Experience in application and infrastructure modernization and cloud migration strategies.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement, documentation, and communication skills.
Desirable:
* AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional / Associate.
* Familiarity with government standards and frameworks (e.g., G-Cloud, NCSC principles).
* Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps, and Agile delivery methodologies.
* Experience with hybrid cloud environments or multi-cloud strategies.

This role at Amber Labs is a 12 Month salary based FTC position, and all employees are required to hold current SC. Please be advised that, at this time, we are unable to consider candidates who require sponsorship or hold a visa of any type.
