We're recruiting for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Somerset, supporting a wide range of industrial and commercial clients across the South West.
This is a varied, field-based position involving servicing, repairs, installations, and breakdown support for a range of electromechanical systems, ideal for a multi-skilled engineer who enjoys solving technical problems on-site and working directly with customers.
Key Responsibilities
 * Carry out site visits to complete servicing, repairs, installations, and reactive maintenance
 * Complete all associated documentation, including risk assessments, service reports, and timesheets
 * Work safely at all times, following company and site Health & Safety procedures
 * Participate in the on-call rota (1 week in 3) and support emergency breakdowns
 * Liaise closely with the Site Service Supervisor to ensure efficient scheduling and high-quality customer service
Skills & Experience Required
 * Proven background as a field service engineer, ideally within an industrial or electro-mechanical manufacturing environment
 * Strong knowledge of electric motors, gearboxes, and pumps (essential)
 * Understanding of three-phase electrical systems and inverters
 * Drives and controls experience essential; PLC knowledge advantageous
 * Experience with generators and confined space training desirable
 * Mechanically and electrically competent, with strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability
 * Customer-focused with excellent communication skills
 * Full UK driving licence required
