Qualified High Intensity CBT Therapist - Maternity Cover

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a qualified CBT therapist accredited by the BAPCP to cover maternity leave on a fixed-term basis.
Work location will be office-based with some remote working. The successful candidate will receive regular clinical and managerial supervision.
The role is part of the NHS Talking Therapies service and involves providing high intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) interventions. You will work with clients who have anxiety, depression and other common mental health issues where CBT is clinically effective. The High Intensity Therapist will lead on providing support, education, and problem solving skills to GPs and the primary health care team, especially around assessment and management of mental health problems.
Main duties of the job
* Keep records in relation to C.P.D. up-to-date, and maintain a personal development plan with specialist knowledge of latest theoretical and service delivery models.
* Participate in individual performance review and respond to agreed objectives.
* Attend conferences/workshops aligned with professional objectives.
* Contribute to the development of best practice within the service.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and procedures relating to Mental Health and Primary Care Services.
* Ensure data protection compliance in line with the Data Protection Act (1998) and Security and Confidentiality Policies.
Job responsibilities
* Maintain standards of practice according to employer and regulatory bodies (BPS, UKCP, BABCP) and stay current with new recommendations and guidelines.
* Adhere to BABCP codes of conduct.
* Protect client confidentiality.
* Stay updated on advances in CBT and other agreed psychological therapies.
* Set, discuss and review professional objectives regularly with senior therapists.
* Attend clinical and managerial supervision as agreed.

Person Specification
Knowledge
* Post Graduate Diploma in CBT and eligibility for BABCP accreditation.>
* Demonstrable experience in mental health services.
* Full range of skills and competencies as per the CBT competence framework (Roth & Pilling 2007).
* Recorded or registered qualification in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy, or equivalent level of training under the BABCP KSA criteria.
* BABCP Accredited.
* Experience in primary care.
Experience
* Ability to meet agreed/specified service targets.
* Experience in a service where targets were used to demonstrate clinical outcomes.
* Understanding of anxiety and depression presentation in primary care.
* Knowledge of work-related mental health issues.
* Commitment to developing knowledge of local and wider systems and networks.
* Training in supervision provision in CBT.
* Completion of clinical audits within a service.
* Knowledge of medication used for anxiety, depression and other mental health problems.
Physical effort
* Regular/r daily travel between office base and allocated GP surgeries where service is delivered.
* Transport of laptop/files between office base and surgeries in line with HPFT policies.
Communication Skills
* Advanced communication skills.
* Teamworking and fostering good working relationships.
* Excellent verbal and written communication.
* Advocacy for new services and integration with wider health care system.
* Fluency in languages other than English.
