Computational Engineering Solver Developer
We are seeking a highly skilled Computational Engineering Solver Developer to join our Turbomachinery team and focus on the development of advanced numerical solvers for our simulation software suite.
This position will involve designing and implementing high-performance numerical solvers in one or more of the following areas:
* 0D-1D thermodynamic and fluid-thermal calculations
* 1D/2D/3D Computational Fluid Dynamics
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing efficient algorithms to solve complex engineering problems within turbomachinery applications, optimizing existing solver code for improved accuracy, stability, and computational efficiency, and integrating developed solvers into the company's turbomachinery design systems.
In addition, the candidate will create appropriate validation test cases and verification protocols for solver accuracy, collaborate with turbomachinery experts to translate engineering requirements into solver capabilities, research and implement state-of-the-art numerical methods for computational efficiency, and document solver methodologies, algorithms, and implementation details.
Requirements
* Masters degree or Ph.D. in Computational Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
* At least 2 years of experience in developing numerical solvers for engineering applications
* Strong programming skills in C# / Python / C++
* Advanced knowledge in at least one of the following areas:
* 1D fluid-thermal calculation algorithms using implicit schemes
* CFD methods, turbulence models, and numerical schemes
* Solid understanding of software development practices (OOP, SOLID) and version control systems (Git)
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in multiple solver domains (1D fluid-thermal modeling, CFD)
* Previous experience with commercial engineering software development
* Knowledge of turbomachinery design tools and workflows
* Experience with GPU programming or high-performance computing
* Publication record in computational engineering or numerical methods
