My client is a world-renowned packaging company and a leading provider within the corrugated packaging sector in the UK. They are currently seeking a Shift Engineer with an electrically biased background, or a strong mechanical engineer with electrical capabilities, to join their high-performing engineering team.
Shift Engineer (Electrical Bias)

£45,000 – £52,952 plus OT

Shifts • Mon–Fri: 05:35–14:00• Mon–Fri: 13:55–21:00• Mon–Thurs: 20:55–06:00
The Shift Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, fault finding, and repairing high-speed packaging machinery including Gluers, Die Cutters, Casemakers, and Colour Printers. This is a great opportunity to join a forward-thinking company known for minimal breakdowns and excellent equipment reliability.
Responsibilities include:
• Electrical & mechanical repairs and maintenance of production machinery• Responding to breakdowns and conducting PPM & TPM• Fault finding on PLCs and using diagnostic tools• Working with electrical systems including motors, inverters, relays, and wiring• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the plant• Hands-on involvement with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Essential:
• Electrically biased background with mechanical competency (Mechanical considered with strong electrical knowledge).• Confident in PLC fault finding and diagnosis• Knowledge of working packaging machinery, food, industrial, automation/robotics• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)• City & Guilds certification welcome• Strong attention to detail and experience in PPM and reactive maintenance
