Job Description
Financial Crime Data Analyst in our Global Information Security (GIS) function, part of the Global Financial Crime Unit (FCU). The FCU advises and supports Companies share businesses in preventing and identifying internal and external fraud. The analyst will investigate fraudulent activity, conduct detective controls and provide data‑driven insights to support investigations into fraud and money laundering.
A role you will love
Reporting directly to the Head of Investigations FCU, you will work on investigative projects, collaborate with IT, legal, compliance and other stakeholders, and analyse data from multiple sources to identify suspicious patterns and anomalies.
Key Responsibilities
* Collect, clean, and analyse large datasets to identify suspicious patterns and anomalies.
* Support fraud detection and monitoring initiatives.
* Collaborate with compliance officers to assess regulatory requirements.
* Assist in developing financial crime prevention strategies.
* Build and refine statistical models and machine learning tools to detect unusual activity.
* Present findings to senior management, regulators and internal stakeholders.
What you will bring
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of financial crime typologies.
Proficiency in SQL, Python or other data analysis tools.
Experience with fraud/financial crime investigations in a first- or second‑line role in financial services, legal or law enforcement.
Knowledge of data visualisation platforms such as Power BI or Tableau, and understanding of AML, fraud detection and financial crime typologies.
Excellent problem‑solving, critical‑thinking skills and up‑to‑date knowledge of current fraud prevention trends.
Other Skills & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance, Economics or a related field.
* Experience in an investment environment is an advantage.
* Confidence to challenge existing processes.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Negotiation and influencing skills to engage stakeholders in remediation actions.
