Overview
Tech Investment & Financial Accounting Senior Manager role at PwC UK. The role is within the Finance Business Partnering team and reports to the Finance Director (FD). It supports managing the Technology Investment portfolio and ensures accuracy in the Tech Catalyst P&L and balance sheet, while implementing firm accounting policies through the Financial Control Centre of Excellence (FC CoE). This lead position establishes a center of excellence aimed at maximizing commercial value from the firm\'s technology investments and oversees billing and recharge mechanisms across Lines of Service (LoS), ensuring consistency with LoS Finance teams.
Responsibilities
* Engage with LoS/Tech Catalyst technology stakeholders; monitor, report, and verify returns on investment related to technology assets, aligned with the business’s financial strategy.
* Maintain a robust control environment and provide assurance over financial accounting.
* Collaborate with FC CoE to discuss and consistently apply accounting policies and control frameworks firm-wide.
* Leverage technical expertise, commercial insight, and strong interpersonal skills to drive, influence, and challenge the business toward achieving financial objectives, while identifying and mitigating financial risks.
* Oversee Technology Investment portfolio reporting and governance; track investments and ensure proper coding mechanisms with Tech Catalyst Leadership and LoS stakeholders.
* Monitor and report on investment ROI, engage in cost and pricing strategies for revenue streams, review investment business cases, and ensure budget adherence with prompt discussions on variances.
What You’ll Do
* Ensure strict financial control and compliance to create a "no surprises" financial management environment; provide P&L management support through insights and detailed analysis.
* Serve as subject matter expert in applying firm accounting policies; consult with FC CoE on complex issues; drive performance improvements using commercial knowledge.
* Assist leadership with strategic decision-making through in-depth insights; prepare cost plans and budgets; provide financial forecasting.
* Share local financial risk knowledge with FC CoE; offer local intelligence and assist with complex queries requiring business context.
Qualifications
* Must possess a relevant accounting qualification such as CA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (or international equivalent); strong technical accounting knowledge including IFRS standards (IFRS 9).
* Commercial technology background and extensive experience in asset investment governance, including costing and pricing.
* Experience in designing and implementing financial processes, best practices, and controls; manage month-end and year-end reporting.
* Experience in facilitating external audits; strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
* Strong influencing and communication skills; ability to challenge senior stakeholders and build trust-based relationships.
* Capable of managing and developing team members; foster technology-enabled mindset to drive change through adoption of technology such as AI.
