Overview
We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity available as a Senior Support Worker at our Safe Haven service in Chesterfield. The Safe Haven is an out-of-hours community wellbeing service offering a warm, welcoming space where individuals can access support during times of mental health crisis, providing a safe, supportive, friendly environment and helping to prevent the escalation of mental health difficulties, particularly where individuals may otherwise have attended an Emergency Department. We aim to support individuals in their recovery by promoting self-empowerment and independence and work alongside them to help build the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to manage future challenges and maintain their wellbeing.
Hours, Shift Pattern, and Work Base
Hours per week: 30 hours per week
Shift Pattern: On a rota covering 4:00pm to 1:00am, Monday to Sunday
Work Base: Site based with travel
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will work in a supportive, people-focused environment with a thorough understanding of mental health needs and excellent communication skills. You will need to remain calm when dealing with challenging situations, be kind, approachable and solution-focused in order to fully support people experiencing a tough time. The role involves providing high-quality support in the Safe Haven setting and contributing to person-centred care and recovery.
