Our client is recruiting for an operationally experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead their growing skip hire and waste management operations. This is a general management role with full responsibility for operational performance, profitability, transport & waste compliance, and overall team management.
Key Responsibilities for the General Manager
Lead day-to-day skip hire, transport and waste transfer station operations
Drive revenue growth and improve operational efficiency
Oversee the sales and administration team members in the office.
Oversee the routing, and maintenance of the HGVs and recycling plant in conjunction with the workshop fitter and transfer station management.
Ensure full compliance with environmental and transport regulations
Oversee set budgets, P&L, and cost control for the site
Lead and develop operational, driving, yard, and office teams
Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationshipsKey Experience for the General Manager
Proven management experience in waste management or transfer station background.
Strong financial and commercial acumen
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Knowledge of environmental and health & safety regulations
Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
Experience managing HGV/transport operations
Experience running recycling operations for, metal recycling, plastics, wood, general waste or skips.
Experience working with management/board remotely
Qualifications in transport management inc OLAT, CPC and WAMITAB or similar environmental management experience desirable. Please apply as directed
