In this role, you'll thrive in our fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.. Your buying schedule will cover the full product cycle: researching trends, planning ranges, sourcing and negotiating styles, managing samples and stock, and reacting quickly to sales -all while working within the buying budget and meeting target margins.
This role involves regular travel within the UK, with occasional travel outside the UK.
What you'll be doing:
* Source new merchandise, build strong supplier relationships, and negotiate cost prices, contract terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to maximise profitability and achieve the sales plan.
* Stay up to date with trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and plan future ranges.
* Work closely with Merchandising to review historic range performance, analyse assortment needs, and plan future buys while managing budgets to meet stock requirements.
* Collaborate with suppliers' designers to produce exclusive styles that enhance the range.
* Oversee sample management and fit sessions, working with suppliers to amend products and ensure quality, fabric and fit meet brand standards.
* Review and action returns/refund analysis weekly to improve product.
* Conduct in-season trading: reacting quickly to over/underperforming products, overseeing repeat orders, and adjusting buys to hit sales, returns, and margin targets while minimising markdowns.
* Manage sample approvals and critical path to keep deliveries on schedule and maintain a steady flow of newness for the brand.
* Work with Creative and Marketing departments to ensure products launch on time and in line with campaign plans.
* Coordinate with the warehouse team to resolve supplier compliance issues or product discrepancies.
* Present new collections to the Head of Buying and Creative Director for sign off and development direction.
* Provide guidance and support to the Buying Assistant.
What skills we're looking for:
* Previous experience as a fashion buyer is essential - 2+ years minimum.
* Proven track record in a similar womenswear buying role, with multi-product experience required.
* A self-starter who thrives in a results-driven, creative environment.
* Confident negotiation skills and the ability to proactively open doors.
* Strong organisational skills with an accurate eye for detail.
* Experience working with targets and KPIs.
* Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage a high workload.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to motivate the team.
