Senior Metering Partnership Manager role at British Gas
Location: Any UK site with flexible home working
British Gas Business (BGB) is the leading provider of energy to SMEs in the UK. We are looking for a strategic and experienced Senior Metering Partnership Manager to lead our team of colleagues and partners through a period of significant change; where said partners will be critical in supporting BGB to deliver excellent commercial and compliance outcomes.
About your team
Our mission is to power the UK’s homes and businesses and move towards Net Zero by leveraging technologies such as thermostats, heat pumps, solar panels and EV chargers. We strive to create a straightforward and hassle-free metering experience for customers, and we rely on strategic partners to achieve these goals.
Key Accountabilities Of The Role
* Strategic Leadership: Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Metering Relationship Management team, ensuring alignment with BGB's business goals and objectives; identify opportunities to drive additional value.
* Partnership Management: Oversee relationships with meter operators, meter asset managers, and metering data services partners to ensure performance and innovation.
* Governance and Compliance: Develop and maintain governance frameworks ensuring compliance with industry regulations, internal policies, and commercial frameworks.
* Performance Optimization: Drive continuous improvement to optimise third-party performance, data quality, and service delivery.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to third-party service delivery with robust contingency plans.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Act as primary point of contact for executive stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
* Contract Negotiation and Management: Lead contract negotiations and manage third-party agreements to secure mutually beneficial terms and sustainable partnerships.
* Innovation and Improvement: Foster a culture of innovation, implementing new technologies and processes to enhance metering services and customer experience.
* Financial Oversight: Manage budgets and financial performance related to metering services, ensuring cost-effective operations and value for money.
* Team Development: Mentor and develop the Metering Relationship Management team, promoting high performance and continuous professional growth.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the utilities industry, with a focus on metering and data services.
* Exceptional stakeholder influencing and management skills at all levels.
* Ability to translate complex technical details into clear, actionable strategies.
* Strong understanding of operational and industry processes, with ability to drive performance improvement initiatives.
* Experience in developing and maintaining governance frameworks in a regulated environment.
* Capability to manage third-party commercial agreements and leverage them for performance optimization.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
