We are seeking a skilled Gas Engineer to join a leading Housing Association. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge and experience in gas installations, repairs, and services. This role requires a hands‑on approach, utilizing various tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient gas systems. The Gas Engineer will be responsible for delivering high‑quality service while adhering to safety regulations and industry standards.
Responsibilities
* You will be working in Yeovil and surrounding areas.
* You will carry out various works including gas servicing, repairs and installations for our customers in a timely manner while maintaining the highest quality standards.
* You will primarily carry out boiler repairs and servicing, alongside installation work when required.
* You will work closely with your team by providing support as and when required.
* You will act as an ambassador for the organisation, using a ‘can do’ attitude to provide a high‑quality, ‘right first time’ service to our customers.
* The organisation will provide you with a uniform, a van, a fuel card, a company tablet & mobile, and the required PPE.
* You will be required to cover Out of Hours Callouts on a rota basis; a clean driving licence is a must.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Gas Engineer in social housing.
* At least 5/6 years qualified.
* Ability to conduct services, repairs and installs when needed.
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment relevant to the trade.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as part of daily responsibilities.
* Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations during work tasks.
* Excellent problem‑solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
* Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
