Responsibilities:
1. Review product ranges regularly, applying best practice category management principles, market and consumer research, and input from marketing, sales, and suppliers.
2. Develop and communicate category management plans to all departments and customers, ensuring understanding, buy-in, and implementation to optimize sales and profitability.
3. Create detailed range rationalization and refreshment plans aligned with review processes and calendars.
4. Develop seasonal supply plans to meet demand fluctuations.
5. Monitor product performance in volume, margin, and market share, taking corrective actions as needed.
6. Analyze competitor pricing and supplier costs to keep customer offers competitive.
7. Negotiate purchase prices and supply terms within company policies.
8. Balance costs, discounts, bonuses, rebates, and promotional activities to position the brand as a quality, value-for-money offer.
The Ideal Candidate:
1. At least 1 year of experience managing categories or product portfolios in food retail/wholesale or similar industries.
2. Experience in data analysis and interpretation.
3. Proven success in delivering commercial results in a fast-paced environment.
