Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Shift Engineer located in Bolton. The Shift Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automated systems and equipment. Key tasks include performing routine preventive maintenance, ensuring system efficiency, responding to equipment breakdowns, and supporting operational teams during production. The role also involves conducting diagnostics, implementing technical improvements, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and documenting maintenance activities.
Qualifications
* Mechanical and electrical engineering skills, including maintenance and repair of automation systems
* Experience with troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues in automated systems
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to apply them in a work environment
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for scheduling and documenting maintenance work
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
* Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., HNC, HND, or equivalent) and experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
* Familiarity with software-based systems in the context of automation is a plus
* Willingness to work a rotating shift schedule
