Overview
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced or newly qualified staff nurse to join our medical ward, Doyle ward. It is a 22 bedded, mixed gender ward caring for acutely unwell patients with varied conditions. Ward Wilson is a busy environment treating patients with a wide variety of conditions. This would be an excellent opportunity to gain a broad nursing experience. We are looking for a talented nurse to contribute to our mission of providing high-quality healthcare to our patients.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the smooth running of the ward with safe admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
* Commit to providing a high standard of nursing care and have the drive to make a difference to patient care.
* Work closely with Consultants, Specialist Nurses and the wider MDT.
* Support and encourage the development of leadership skills and contribute to the clinical governance process.
* Act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students.
* Take delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical team and the maintenance of high standards of quality patient care on a shift basis.
* Assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of patient care in a caring, compassionate and sensitive manner.
* Work with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process.
