Merchandising Manager Overview
As Merchandising Manager, you'll be leading the way through every stage of the production cycle. You'll manage and optimise the supply chain across the Far East, working in close collaboration with the design, technical and production teams to ensure on-brand execution, commercial viability and high-quality delivery.
Only candidates with previous experience in wholesale, import and/or production merchandising within the fashion industry will be considered.
Merchandising Manager Responsibilities
* Oversee the full production process from design handover to bulk delivery, ensuring timelines, costs and quality targets are met
* Manage and develop the in-house technical and production teams, fostering collaboration and efficiency across departments
* Leading sourcing and production out of the Far East, maintaining strong vendor relationships and negotiating commercial terms
* Ensure compliance with ethical and sustainability standards across the supply chain
* Collaborate closely with design and merchandising teams to align production with brand vision and critical paths
* Implement and maintain best practices in supply chain and production planning to improve speed-to-market and cost-effectiveness
* Identify and mitigate risks across the supply chain, proactively solving issues as they arise
* Own production budgeting and cost engineering across all in-house brands
Merchandising Manager Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in a production-based role within a branded fashion environment
* Extensive knowledge of Far East manufacturing, including factory management, lead times and regional nuances
* A commercial mindset with ability to balance creativity, cost and quality
* Strong negotiation and communication skills
