Overview
Stantec is a global leader in sustainable design and engineering seeking a visionary Project Director to join the Water Sector team. The role can sit across any regional office (e.g., London, Cambridge, Brighton, Southampton, Ashford, Kings Hill, Reading, High Wycombe) and involves leading major water projects and frameworks, with a focus on design & construction (D&C).
Responsibilities
* Provide strategic and hands-on leadership for large-scale projects and programmes, with emphasis on projects involving contractors in the design & construction environment.
* Report to the Regional Director and matrix-report to the Major Projects Discipline and Market Area Director; guide Project Managers and teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
* Take overall responsibility for delivery of Strategic Resource Option (SRO) projects and large water frameworks (e.g., Wessex Water Capital Delivery Partnership, Southern Water Professional Services Framework, Thames Water Asset Capital & Engineering Framework).
* Lead in building capability and capacity within the Major Projects portfolio; apply commercial and risk management strategies to projects and programmes.
* Support the development of people, work with regional leadership teams, and champion best practice, new services, and world-class project delivery offerings.
* Manage stakeholder relationships, ensure HSSE and wellbeing compliance, and maintain strong client interfaces as the primary contact.
About You
* Project leader with a track record delivering successful Major Projects in a multidisciplinary environment (preferably in the water sector).
* Deep understanding of design for construction and the commercial acumen to ensure successful financial outcomes.
* Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and demonstrate exemplary HSSE management and wellbeing behaviour.
* Chartership with a relevant institution is preferred.
