As Market Intelligence Lead, you’ll take ownership of a newly created capability that sits at the intersection of strategy, technology, and commercial decision‑making. This high‑impact leadership position directly influences investment choices, bid strategies, and long‑term growth across complex, capital‑intensive markets.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities include:
* Building and owning Babcock’s market intelligence capability, embedding insight into growth, technology, and investment decisions
* Tracking global markets, competitors, and customer trends to provide live, actionable intelligence
* Developing financial and economic models that support bids, customer engagement, and technology investment choices
* Leading scenario planning and strategic foresight activities, translating external signals into clear strategic options
* Briefing senior stakeholders with concise, evidence‑based insights that shape commercial strategy and resource allocation
This is a 37‑hour per week, permanent role based at Rosyth, working Monday to Friday with an onsite presence of three days per week. Hybrid working patterns are available.
Essential experience
* Proven experience in market strategy, market intelligence, commercial economics, management consulting, or financial analysis within complex or technology‑led industries
* Strong capability in building and communicating financial or economic models that influence senior decision‑making
* Experience translating market, competitor, and customer insight into practical strategic recommendations
* A track record of working closely with technical, engineering, or product teams to shape investment and prioritisation decisions
* Confidence influencing senior stakeholders through structured, evidence‑based insight
Qualifications
* Degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Business, Strategy, or a related analytical discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
* Strong grounding in commercial economics, financial modelling, or strategic analysis
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesise complex information into clear business insight
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain BPSS clearance for this role. Many positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
