Join Our Team as a Product Safety Team Leader!
Location: Samlesbury (Full-time on site)
Salary: £54,793 + depending on skills and experience
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Product Safety Team Leader, you will be at the forefront of ensuring safety across the F-35 platform. Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading a dedicated team to execute F-35 System Safety activities across all BAE Systems Contracts, covering Airframe, Vehicle System, Weapons Integration, and Sustainment.
* Developing, maintaining, and updating essential safety documentation, including Hazard Assessment Summary Reports and Safety Justification Reports.
* Conducting safety assessments for new and emerging safety issues within BAES design responsibilities.
* Providing expert guidance to Engineering teams on evaluating qualification and verification evidence from a safety perspective.
* Coaching junior members on maintaining hazards in the F-35 Hazard Log and supporting Safety Working Group activities.
Your Skills and Experiences:
Essential:
* Experience in authoring and approving safety documentation or technical reports, with knowledge of Safety Management Plans.
* Background in an aircraft systems safety role or support engineering safety role.
* Professionally registered (IEng / CEng) or working towards it.
* Demonstrable knowledge of the system/software engineering lifecycle.
* Understanding of relevant engineering standards.
Desirable:
* Engineering degree or equivalent experience in aircraft systems or support systems engineering.

The Product Integrity Team:
In this role, you will lead a team of Safety Engineers responsible for managing routine and urgent safety issues across the F-35 platform. Your leadership will be crucial in safeguarding platform safety, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and addressed efficiently.
