Pottersway House is a brand-new, purpose-built luxury care home nestled in the heart of Church Lawton. With space for 60 residents and offering Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care, the home has been thoughtfully designed to offer both comfort and innovation. Now, we’re looking for a passionate, experienced Commissioning Manager to bring it to life.

Position: Commissioning Home Manager
Location: Pottersway House Care Home, Stoke on Trent ST7 3RG
Salary: £80,000–£90,000 per annum (Depending on experience)
Bonus: Up to 40% bonus (OTE £126,000)
Hours: 40 per week
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Why This Role Matters:
You won’t be stepping into someone else’s legacy; you’ll be writing your own. With 35 permanent staff already recruited and the home already 15% occupied without a single agency worker, Pottersway is off to a strong start. Now, we need the right leader to continue that journey.
You’ll take full ownership of the commissioning process, from registration through to full occupancy. That means developing recruitment and retention strategies, building lasting partnerships with local authorities and healthcare professionals, and ensuring your team is trained, supported and inspired to deliver exceptional care.
You’ll be commercially astute, able to manage budgets and drive occupancy with confidence. But just as importantly, you’ll be values-driven – someone who leads with integrity and believes in the power of person-centred care.
What You’ll Be Doing - From day one, you’ll:
* Lead the registration and set-up of all operational processes.
* Recruit, onboard, and inspire a brand-new team with zero agency reliance.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders and families.
* Ensure full compliance with CQC and Local Authority expectations.
* Oversee budgets and financial performance, with full P&L responsibility.
* Create a culture of continuous improvement, clinical excellence, and warm hospitality.
* Drive the marketing and local reputation of the home, attracting residents and building trust.
About You:
You’re already an experienced Home Manager or senior leader in care, ideally with commissioning experience. Whether this is your first or your fifth commissioning role, what matters most is your energy, vision, and ability to lead a team with heart and clarity.
You’ll need:
* A strong track record of leadership in an elderly care setting.
* Excellent knowledge of CQC and care sector regulations.
* Confidence in recruitment, HR, and building culture from day one.
* A commercial mindset – with an understanding of how care and business work hand in hand.
* The ability to think long-term, act with integrity, and bring people with you.
