Overview
We are recruiting two new, entry‑level roles in the Licensing team. These positions provide an ideal starting point for a professional career in the Licensing department, focusing on taxi licensing activities (vehicles, drivers, and private hire operators) in Broadland.
Responsibilities
* Assist with day‑to‑day licensing officer tasks, supporting Licensing and Enforcement Officers.
* Build strong internal and external relationships, promoting and encouraging compliance with licensing legislation.
* Administer and assist in issuing licences, maintaining licensing databases and registers.
* Investigate complaints about existing licences and unlicensed activities in collaboration with Licensing and Enforcement Officers.
* Provide routine technical advice to customers face‑to‑face or by telephone, and assess, accept, reject, and process applications according to set criteria.
* Check licence conditions, ensuring adherence and maintaining records for evidence gathering.
Requirements
* A‑level or equivalent (or a recognised professional licensing qualification).
* Demonstrable experience in local authority licensing in an advisory role.
* Strong deadline management, organisational, time‑management and decision‑making skills.
* Ability to write clear, concise reports.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.
