About Our Client
I am delighted to be exclusively partnering with The Royal School of Needlework to recruit a Finance Manager on a part time basis. Based at the magnificent Hampton Court Palace, south-west London, they offer a thriving education programme for everyone from beginner to degree level. This is permanent, hybrid working opportunity and the successful candidate will be expected to work 3 days per week. Salary up to £50k FTE
Job Description
To oversee the day to day operational finance and prepare the financial reporting of the Royal School of Needlework and RSN Enterprises Ltd.
3. Line management, coaching and development of the Finance Officer and Finance Assistant
4. Responsibility for all day to day operational finance matters
5. Processing of the monthly payroll
6. Review of payment runs prepared by the Finance Officer and Finance Assistant
7. Cash flow forecasting for the group
8. Review of VAT returns prepared by the Finance Officer and submission to HMRC after discussion and review with the Finance Director
9. Preparation of the Office for Students Annual Financial Return for review by the Finance Director
10. Preparation of the financial aspects of the Charity Commission Annual Return for review by the Finance Director
11. Preparation of monthly management accounts, including review of journals and reconciliations prepared by the Finance Officer and Finance Assistant
12. Principal point of contact for the auditors for the year end audit and preparation of the lead schedules and statutory accounts
13. Integral part of the budgeting process in conjunction with the Finance Director
14. Submission of Gift Aid claims
15. Participation in project work as required
The Successful Applicant
16. Full qualification of either ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent - essential
17. At least 4 years' post qualification experience - essential
18. Extensive management accounts experience - essential
19. Experience of supervising Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff - essential
20. At least basic treasury experience
21. Experience of working in the charity sector and the relevant accounting and tax regulations applying to charities, including VAT, would be an advantage but is not essential
22. Experience of commercial and retail operations, including stock management an advantage
23. Experience of the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
24. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
25. Systems experience - ideally Sage 50 but also experience of other systems interfacing with the main accounting system.
26. Strong communication skills - ability to communicate with colleagues of all levels across the organisation
27. Ability to understand complex issues and bring clarity of thought and explanation
28. Ability to coach and develop team members
29. Strong organisation skills - ability to prioritise and deliver to deadlines essential
30. High level of numeracy, literacy and attention to detail
