Our Work
District Valuer Services (DVS) provide professional property advice across the public sector, including private and third sector clients involved in delivering public services and functions of a public nature. District Valuer Service is organised into five key sectors including Health, Transport & Infrastructure, the Central, Regional, Local and Devolved Government and the Environment. DVS operate on a full cost recovery basis and all business activities involve a high level of commercial awareness.
Role Overview
District Valuer Services (DVS) are looking to recruit Valuation Surveyors with property experience. The roles are required to support qualified Chartered Surveyors to carry out inspection and valuation work and support the delivery of key contracts.
As a Valuation Surveyor within DVS, you will be heavily involved in the process of undertaking inspections of property and land, carrying out valuations, progressing client instructions and supporting the delivery of contracts to key clients.
You will be involved in a variety of interesting work for public sector bodies and will be expected to cover large geographical patches to inspect property and land. You will work as part of a team, including Chartered Valuation Surveyors who will provide you with all the advice and guidance you need. Full training is provided. Key responsibilities
* Carrying out site inspections and measurements of commercial and domestic property. For example, this could be measuring and inspecting medical centres for rental valuations for GP practices.
* Researching data and collating information to formulate a decision regarding rating casework and be accountable for any decisions made.
* Delivering property and valuation guidance in response to client instructions.
* Inputting and downloading of data into our computer systems.
* Providing desktop valuations for our Department for Work & Pensions (DWP) clients.
