Senior Staff Nurse (West Ward – Haematology) – Secondment
* Location: Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading
* Grade: Band 6
* Contract: 6‑month secondment (maternity cover)
* Hours: Full time – 37.5 hours per week
* Salary: £38,682 – £46,580 per annum
* Closing date: 28/12/2025 23:59

Main Responsibilities
* Provide coordinated, high‑quality outpatient haemato‑oncology services alongside the ward manager and Clinical Nurse Specialists.
* Support the Ward Sister and manage day‑to‑day running of the unit in her absence.
* Deliver efficient, evidence‑based nursing care to patients.
* Recognise life‑threatening reactions and take appropriate action.
* Organise workload according to clinical priorities.
* Work autonomously while remaining an integral part of the multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with professional UK registration.
* SACT trained.
* Desirable: Evidence of leadership/management and speciality development.
Experience
* At least 2 years post‑registration in Haematology/Oncology.
* Experience in mentoring, facilitation, teaching, assessing, and coaching.
* Significant recent experience in a post‑qualification speciality.
Skills
* Good IT skills.
* Excellent clinical skills in haematology.
