Job Title: Ultrasonographer
Department: MH Ultrasound
Location: Massena Hospital
Hours Per Week: 40 scheduled hours
Schedule: 8-hour day shift, 8 AM - 4 PM, with on-call every second or third weekend
About the Role
Are you passionate about using cutting-edge technology to make a difference in patient care? As an Ultrasonographer, you will play a vital role in our healthcare team, utilizing ultrasound technology to create images that help doctors diagnose and monitor various medical conditions. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring our patients receive the highest quality of care.
Your Responsibilities
* Perform ultrasound procedures on patients as per physician orders.
* Assist physicians during ultrasound procedures requiring their presence.
* Safely lift and move patients with assistance.
* Label and process all studies accurately to ensure prompt medical care.
* Operate stationary and mobile x-ray equipment, excluding ultrasound and C.T. equipment.
* Notify supervisors of any equipment deficiencies.
* Develop x-rays and maintain processing equipment by ensuring chemical solutions are at prescribed levels.
* Ensure the safe operation of all ultrasound equipment and notify supervisors of any issues.
* Maintain adequate supplies for ultrasound operations and report shortages promptly.
* Assist in training student x-ray technologists and staff radiological technologists in ultrasound.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
* Degree: Graduate from an AMA-approved program in Ultrasound Technology.
* Certification: National registry in ultrasound technology within one year of employment, including abdominal specialty; other specialty registries completed within three years.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with OB and Breast imaging.

Union: CSEA - Civil Service Employees Association (MH)
Note: Not all per diem roles are union eligible.
Physical Requirements
This role involves medium work, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently. You will need to be comfortable with frequent walking, standing, or squatting.
Compensation
Pay Range: $33.22 - $44.89
This pay range is a good faith representation of potential base pay for a successful full-time applicant. It may be modified in the future and is eligible for additional pay components based on experience, qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
