Job Description
Bill Prentice Court is a new extra care facility located in Bonnyrigg, Midlothian.
We are looking for caring and motivated Care Support Workers to join our Extra Care housing team. You will support tenants to live independently within their homes, promoting dignity, choice and wellbeing at all times.
Requirements
Position Title: Senior Care Worker (Housing with Care) (Nights) – 3 posts

Contract Status: Permanent
Post 1 & 2: 31 hours 50 minutes per week, 3 days on / 5 days off, 20:00-07:00. Salary: £27,072.49 per annum.
Post 3: 21 hours per week, 2 days on / 5 days off, 20:00-07:00. Salary: £17,861.21 per annum.
Jobholder must have an SVQ2 in Care, Direct Care or equivalent. If not, they must obtain one within 3 years. Registration with the SSSC is expected within 6 months.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills are required. Domestic experience of household tasks, the ability to work independently, and a calm, flexible response to unplanned situations are essential.
Responsibilities
This post is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Applicants must be eligible to work with protected adults.
Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Adults. Join the scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment with Midlothian Council; the cost will be paid by the employee.
Provide care support to tenants to enable independent living, ensuring dignity, choice and wellbeing.
