Are you passionate about supporting young adults with Special Educational Needs in a practical and enriching educational environment? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to join a unique school in Wareham as an SEN Support Worker immediately.
About the School
The school is an education setting based for 16 – 25+ years old with Special Educational Needs. It is based on 350 acres of beautiful Dorset countryside. The school operate enterprise activities and vocational teaching methods to bridge the gap between education and employment for young people and adults with SEN in Dorset and the local area. The school focuses on vocations like horticulture, agriculture, equine skills and animal care as well as many more, to enrich the lives and education of its pupils.
About the Role
As an SEN Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping students develop independence, confidence, and employability skills. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide tailored support for each student.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students in vocational and classroom-based learning
* Assist in implementing personalised learning and behaviour plans
* Promote a calm, safe, and engaging learning environment
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families
* Monitor and document student progress and wellbeing
Requirements:
* Previous experience supporting individuals with SEN (desirable)
* A genuine passion for inclusive education
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable)
* Valid UK driving license and willingness to drive
To work with GSL Education as an SEN Support Worker, you should:
* Have the right to work in the UK.
* Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
* Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
