Programme Producer, Transforming Wealth Lab
c. £68k • Hybrid, based York / London
The Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) is an independent social change organisation working to support and accelerate the transition to a more equitable and just future, free from poverty, where people and planet can flourish. Across the UK, JRF undertakes policy development, advocacy, impact investment, field building and community support, employing around 150 permanent staff in York, London, Glasgow and Belfast.
In autumn 2024, JRF Trustees approved a £10m investment and a five‑year commitment to help protect, grow and connect the thinkers, activists and researchers who are creating transformative approaches to wealth and investment. The Transforming Wealth Lab (TWL) will build connections to international best practice, catalyse co‑investment, and influence the wider market and cultural paradigm.
The purpose of this role is to ensure effective delivery of the TWL programme, translating its strategy, mission and values into meaningful stakeholder relationships, impactful field building, practical operational plans and thoughtful funding practices. You will help the JRF model relationality, flexibility and partnership to support the evolution of a growing field and demonstrate how a funder can contribute its full range of skills and expertise beyond funding.
Responsibilities
* Translate the TWL strategy into actionable plans and meaningful stakeholder relationships.
* Deliver a robust field‑building approach and demonstrate how the JRF can contribute beyond funding.
* Navigate complexity and uncertainty with curiosity, creativity and risk awareness.
* Engage generatively with conflict and power dynamics, building trust and sustaining radical intent.
* Coordinate multiple moving parts and manage inter‑departmental collaboration.
* Produce high‑impact outputs that synthesise empirical research, innovation processes and participatory design.
Qualifications
* Extensive track record of ambitious partnership building, start‑up leadership, programme delivery, or community organising.
* High competence in project and programme management techniques and excellent communication skills across diverse domains.
* Understanding of empirical research methods and/or innovation processes, and ability to synthesise complex information.
* Knowledge of inclusive facilitation, participatory design and a deep commitment to intersectional social, environmental and economic justice.
* Experience in navigating power dynamics and fostering trust with diverse stakeholders.
