The Role Senior Digital Manager
We have an exciting new role for an outstanding Senior Digital Manager to lead the website and digital marketing strategy for Chester Zoo and The Reserve, to achieve our ambitious short- and long-term visitor and income targets, and in turn support our wider strategic development plans and conservation mission.
We’re looking for a proactive and commercially-minded individual who can confidently lead and develop a passionate in-house team and external digital agency partners.
You will be responsible for driving significant revenue through all customer facing online channels, including website and app. And you will be the senior marketing contact for digital decisions and projects across the wider Chester Zoo digital architecture, system implementations and developments.
* Reporting to the Head of Brand and Marketing, you will lead the digital marketing team to enhance our brand and deliver against our digital KPIs and broader visitation and income objectives, both with the short and long term in mind.
* You will be the go-to person for the website, app and performance marketing, identifying new growth opportunities and working alongside our senior leads in brand, CRM/customer development, email, data insight and marketing.
* You will manage and optimise the website and performance marketing budgets to ensure maximum ROI and efficiency at all times, driving the growth of online revenue through CRO and digital marketing projects related to our varied commercial and charitable opportunities, whilst remaining adaptable to spot and tackle changes in performance and new opportunities that arise.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ideate, develop and implement integrated digital projects. You will provide digital marketing leadership to other departments such as memberships, events, fundraising and education to achieve their financial targets, as well as conservation and science teams to achieve conservation objectives.
* You will analyse and report on our digital performance, identifying areas for optimisation and you’ll proactively provide data and insight to inform marketing and organisational decision making at the highest level. Finally, staying up to date with and sharing the latest digital marketing trends, best practices, and innovation will be key.

Our Requirements
* Proven experience in digital marketing leadership and team management.
* Strong understanding of UX, online content, website development, SEO, Apps, and paid performance marketing.
* Proven experience of running complex digital marketing projects from start to finish.
* Experience in managing CMS, ideally Umbraco.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. Ability to think creatively and develop innovative digital marketing strategies.
* Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to work autonomously, effectively and with cross-functional teams.
* Proficient in digital marketing and media ROI tools, tracking and analytics, including Google Analytics, Google Ads etc.
Although not essential, the following would be desirable:
* Higher Qualification in Digital Marketing or related subject (i.e. Degree, CIM Diploma)
* Experience and interest in AI and digital innovation.
* Understanding of digital architectures for large organisations, including system integrations such as ticketing, payment, emails, hotel PMS, and CRM/ database.
* Experience within charity organisations or visitor attractions/ hotels.
The Package
* Contract Type Permanent
* Working Hours 40 hours per week
* Salary £54,238.58 per annum
* Hybrid working, based at Chester Zoo with up to 2 days working from home.
