Description About the job: Kent is looking for a Senior Metallurgy & Corrosion Engineer to be based in Woking. Skills & Responsibilities: Contribute to projects across Engineering and Consultancy Services markets (Oil and Gas, Hydrogen and Low Carbon), with responsibilities including: Supports the discipline supervisor for the selection of materials, corrosion assessment and development of deliverables. Providing corrosion and materials support for all the project and lifecycle stages from Concept, Pre-FEED, FEED, Detail Design, Construction and Operational. Experience in materials selection and corrosion for the operational assets. Design and review of coating and painting systems onshore pipelines, onshore oil and gas buried metallic structures. Design and review of cathodic protection will be added advantage. Reviews, and checks the materials activities including Philosophies, Specifications for coatings, protection, insulation etc, Material Selection, Calculations, Drawings, Datasheets, preparation of Technical Requisitions & Bid Evaluations. Identifies and resolves discrepancies and divergences from original proposal/ contract by raising technical queries with projects / client. Experience of CRAS and RBI will be added advantage. Writing of Materials Selection Philosophies, Reports and preparing Materials Selection Diagrams. Writing of Materials Specification (Coating and Painting, Insulations and Sour materials). Work experience of the corrosion models (ECE 5.8, Predict etc). Work experience of CCS and Hydrogen projects will be added advantage. Contributing towards bids and proposals. In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development. Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Engineering degree (honours or equivalent) in metallurgy / materials / corrosion. Chartered status (or working towards) is considered advantageous. Proven experience working at a Senior level within major oil and gas or renewables companies in Pre-FEED, FEED and EPC/EPCm Proven success in delivering studies and preparing clear, concise reports against time, cost, and quality objectives. Communication: Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills. Behaviour/ Core Competencies: Knowledge of CO2, H2S corrosion, CO2 Dense Phase, H2, MIC and Chlorides degradation mechanisms is required. Ammonia and Biofuel corrosion is considered advantageous. Knowledge of Coating and Painting requirements and specification Self-motivated, enthusiastic, reliable, work to time sensitive deliverables and mature approach to work.
