The position is within the Cynon Community Mental Health Team, which includes the Team Manager, Principal Social Worker, Social Workers (including AMHPs), Community Psychiatric nurses, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, and an Occupational Therapist.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Team Practice and Performance Manager in supporting the team and deputise when needed.
* Carry a small complex caseload and work closely with colleagues in health and the third sector services toward recovery for and with service users.
* Take on a mentoring role with newly qualified practitioners and support the team with supervision.
* Commit to personal development and participate in regular informal and formal supervision.
* Develop and enhance leadership skills, influence the development of the service area, and work within a strong management team.
Qualifications
* Professional recognised Social Work qualification.
* Registered and maintain registration as a Social Worker with Social Care Wales on appointment.
* Understanding of and commitment to a recovery-based approach to social care services.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation: Mental Health Measures Wales (2010), Mental Health Act (1983), Mental Capacity Act (2005) and Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act (2014).
* Additional enhanced payment is available to candidates with the Approved Mental Health Professionals qualification and undertaking the role within the position.
