Bioquell, a brand of Ecolab, based at Andover Hampshire UK, designing and manufacturing products based on the Hydrogen Peroxide vapour technology which is used for the decontamination in the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical sectors. The products and consumables are all manufactured on the same site as the R&D facility and then are exported globally.
The role is based at Andover where there are well equipped prototype workshop and test rooms, and they will be working within a 12 strong multidisciplinary R&D team. The team currently consists of 3 mechanical design engineers as well as two test and development engineers, with this role adding to the team.
How You’ll Make An Impact
* You will predominantly be looking at the development of existing and new products, carrying out CFD/FEA analysis and physical experimentation to optimise the airflow, thermal performance, and structural integrity of new designs. Two-way communication with the engineering design team and other R&D engineers will be vital to implement the results of these analyses into the design process.
* You will provide engineering support and expertise to conduct non-conformance reporting and corrective action. You will ensure products are compliant with relevant regional directives, standards, and certification requirements. You will also be liaising with Quality and Production teams on technical issues, identifying continuous improvement in the design process and products.
* Undertake a wide variety of analysis, the primary aspect being airflow/thermal. CFD analysis is currently performed in-house using Ansys software, with CAD modelling in Creo.
* The role will be both desk work on the analysis and practical work validating and experimenting on results.
New Product Development
Developing of new products to both widen and re-new the product range. There is a comprehensive New Product Introduction process allowing for collaboration with all stake holders in the new products. A large variety of materials are used in the design using a number of different manufacturing processes, some of which are in house, and others are sub-contracted. Updating and changing existing products due to obsolescence, production issues, site issue and developing requirements. Developing of additional customer specific requirements and features, allowing a deeper understanding of the Pharmaceutical industry.
Production Support
Working with Production on quality and process problems, as well as designing equipment to aid the manufacturing process.
Customer Support
Helping to identify and get to the root cause of customer issues. Developing test equipment for the global network of Service Technicians.
Qualifications
* Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely related subject.
* Proficiency with 3D modelling, Creo is used, however training can be done to transfer from other software, there will be requirement to conduct some CAD design work. It is expected to do calculations and FEA (Thermal, stress), using Creo Simulate.
* CFD airflow experience
