We’re modernising our systems, streamlining operations, and enhancing digital tools to support staff. As part of our exciting transition from SAP to Oracle Fusion next year, we’re looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Assistant/Administrator to play a vital role in maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in our payroll processes.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Payroll Processing: Administer the full payroll cycle, including starters, leavers, salary changes, absences, overtime, and pension deductions.
* Problem-Solving: Investigate payroll queries, liaise with departments, and ensure prompt resolutions.
* Records Management: Maintain secure and compliant payroll records.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with external agencies (HMRC, DWP, pension providers, etc.) to provide accurate salary information.
* Data Integrity: Ensure payroll audit checks are completed and statutory records maintained.
* System Administration: Input payroll changes into HR and payroll systems while supporting system improvements.
* Financial Reporting: Assist with pension reconciliations, Freedom of Information requests, National Statistics returns, and reference requests.
* Team Support: Participate in department briefings and assist colleagues as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
* Excel Expertise: Strong skills in handling large spreadsheets, including pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, IF statements, and conditional formatting.
* Detail-Oriented: Able to spot inconsistencies and maintain accuracy in complex payroll processes.
* Strong Communicator: Comfortable liaising with departments, external agencies, and employees.
* Team Player: Flexible, collaborative, and eager to support the team’s success.
