Junior Sister/Charge Nurse Paediatric ED
An opportunity has arisen for a Junior Sister / Charge Nurse within the Paediatric Emergency Department to develop their skills and knowledge and work within an excellent team of healthcare professionals dedicated to emergency care provision.
Main duties of the job
Candidates will have RSCN qualifications with experience at Band 6 level. They must demonstrate good leadership qualities and support a team of nurses whilst co-ordinating the flow within the department.
You will be required to:
* Take direct managerial responsibility for the clinical area.
* Assist in the leadership and development of an identified group of nurses within the department, ensuring regular 1:1s and professional development, including timely annual appraisals. You will also assist in managing ED ward audits and addressing any concerns.
* Act as a clinical resource within the department.
* Serve as a positive role model to junior staff, emphasizing high-quality, courteous, patient-focused service, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
* Understand and support the delivery of the Emergency Care Standards (ECS).
* Be aware of relevant local and national health agenda items.
* Act on behalf of the Band 7 in their absence and attend necessary meetings.
