Overview
Funeral Operative role at TieTalent. Location: Cambridge (CB5 8PA) and surrounding area. Contract: Full time, Permanent. Hours: 8:45am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, plus night-time and weekend out of hours on-call rota. Salary: Total earnings £35,500 – £39,500 per annum (Basic £27,500 p.a.; participation in out of hours rotas generates additional overtime and allowances circa £8K – £12K p.a.).

Funeral Operative – The Role
This is an active role, where no two days are the same. You will perform a wide range of practical funeral related tasks that involve heavy lifting, and you will also chauffeur funeral cars. A smart appearance and a full, clean driving licence are essential.
You will
* Support ceremonial aspects of funerals
* Work with nursing homes, hospitals and other facilities to bring individuals into our care
* Prepare and trim coffins
* Maintain funeral vehicles and ambulance fleets to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation
* Work in the mortuary environment in the care, preparation and presentation of those in our care (this will be introduced gradually and under supervision)
Funeral Operative – What we need from you
* Existing funeral professionals and those who have never worked in the funeral profession are welcome to apply. Full training will be provided.
* Be conscientious and reliable, flexible, resourceful and well-presented
* Be punctual with good time management
* Be a good team player
* Be empathetic and able to communicate with people at all levels
* Have a clean driving licence with access to your own transport
* Have the ability to carry out a range of physical tasks including heavy lifting
